The creek bed above the waterfall seems to have been dry for some considerable time. Given the volume of water at the other falls in the area when we visited and the fact that the creek now appears to emanate from a karst type spring some 100m downstream from the falls, I would say that the creek has now permanently altered its course and bybasses Maxwell Falls altogether.
